01. About the project

Concept

"HIRAKU" is an application concept that helps teenagers and young people to open up, get the right information about questions they have. 20% of adolescents may experience a mental health problem in any given year. 50% of mental health problems are established by age 14 and 75% by age 24. Apps' purpose is to help young people and to reduce these numbers.

Project goals

HELP YOUNG PEOPLE

TEACH THEM HOW TO HANDLE OBSTACLES

Make it easy for them to talk with others

Between 20% – 30% of adolescents report symptoms of depression. While depression once was considered an “adult” affliction, the mean age of onset today is 15.

Because of their hard time's teenagers isolate them selfs. Approximately 40 percent of the students are intorverts.

In most cases children don't know how to handle though situations, which makes them more depressed and isolated

05. User testing

User testing report

I interviewed 6 users, 3 teenagers, and 3 therapists to test my prototype to ensure the usability of the presented design solution. The interviews were remote and I asked them to perform a list of tasks

06. Conclusion

Learnings

From the beginning, I knew that this project was different from the last two. This time I was dealing with young people's mental health. I had to be very careful with every minor detail from the color palette to information architecture if I wanted to create something that would make young people feel safe and open up. After researching, I learned that they most likely will talk to strangers than to their own parents, but there are also people who do not like talking to someone at all and that is when the idea of a private diary came. For this project, I conducted a user interview for the first time and it was a great experience.

By the end of this project, I was once again convinced how much of an importance UX has in our lives
